Top Scorers Filled Up Forms Wrongly
July 16, 2013 | National NewsKUALA LUMPUR: THE Higher Education Department of the Education Ministry will hold a meeting today to look into changes in the?? university application system.
This follows the uproar over cases where top scorers' applications were rejected.
Deputy Education Minister II P. Kamalanathan said: "There is a question (No. 4) which asks applicants whether it would be all right if they are offered a course other than the eight choices that they have stated in the form.
"Many rejected applicants with 4.0 CGPA (cumulative grade point average) had come to see me.
"When I looked at their copy of the application slip, I found they had made this mistake.
"Once the system sees that the option by an applicant cannot be fulfilled, it will go to the question.?
"When it sees that the applicant does not want any other course than the ones they had applied for, it rejects them."
