Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) Recognised As An INAAHE GGP Aligned Agency
October 14, 2014 | National NewsIt is indeed an achievement for Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). On 26 September 2014, MQA became the first quality assurance agency in Southeast Asia to be conferred formal recognition for its comprehensive adherence to the good practice guidelines for external quality assurance agencies by the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
INQAAHE (www.inqaahe.org) is a voluntary association of 271 organisations, representing more than 100 countries and linked to 19 regionals networks around the world that are active in the theory and practice of quality assurance in higher education.
In accordance with this stated mission, INQAAHE considers that professional practices should be embedded in all quality agencies as outlined in the Guidelines of Good Practice in Quality Assurance (commonly referred to as GGP). Encompassing four sections, i.e. Section 1: The EQAA: Accountability, Transparency and Resources; Section II: Institutions of Higher Education and the EQAA: Relationship, Standards and Internal Reviews; Section III: EQAA Review of Institutions: Evaluation, Decision and Appeals; and Section IV: GGP results from the contributions of quality assurance agencies from over 65 countries. These agencies are dedicated to ensuring that higher education students throughout the whole world have access to high quality education.
