MARA offers education loans for Bumiputera students at selected universities for 2020 - StudyMalaysia.com

has just announced that it is offering loans to eligible Bumiputera students who will be pursuing or are currently pursuing a bachelor's degree at selected higher education institutions for the year 2020.

There are two types of education loans offered: (1) tuition fees and allowance (2) tuition fees only. MARA is focusing on nine strategic areas for this year's education loan:

Engineering and Environment

Marketing, Business and Management

Creative Design

IT and Computer Science

Build Professionals

Accounting and Finance

Medical Science

Food Security

Transport – Vehicle and Design Engineering

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

For students about to enter Year 1 of university in fields other than medicine, dentistry and pharmacy

  • CGPA ≥3.00 at foundation/ matriculation/ preparatory / diploma / STPM level
  • Credit in Bahasa Melayu and a pass in Sejarah at SPM level

For students about to enter Year 1 of university in medicine or dentistry

  • CGPA ≥3.00 and grade B in Biology and Chemistry at foundation/ matriculation/ preparatory / diploma / STPM level
  • Credit in Bahasa Melayu and a pass in Sejarah at SPM level

For students about to enter Year 1 of university in pharmacy

  • CGPA ≥3.00 and grade B in Chemistry at foundation/ matriculation/ preparatory / diploma / STPM level
  • Credit in Bahasa Melayu and a pass in Sejarah at SPM level

For students already pursuing a bachelor’s degree:

  • Must have at least a CGPA ≥3.00 or equivalent in the previous semester
  • Credit in Bahasa Melayu and a pass in Sejarah at SPM level, and must already completed Year 1

General eligibility requirements for all applicants:

  • Must be a Bumiputera
  • Must be pursuing undergraduate studies in the fields approved by MARA
  • The socio-economics status of the family—must have an annual taxable income of RM180,000 and below. For those working overseas or self-employed (no BE statement), the average monthly income must be RM15,000 and below
  • Applicant must not be in receipt of any other form of sponsorship
