Are you tired of hitting the books every single day? If you’ve had too much of mathematical formulas and scientific facts lately, perhaps it’s time to explore your artistic side. You could be a closet culture vulture waiting to break free.
Do you appreciate art? Do you like music, dance, paintings, performing, and creating things? Have you ever wondered if you could be an artist?
You’ve gotta admit it. Being an artist or performer could be pretty cool. After all, the most celebrated celebrities are singers and actors of some sort. Could you be one of them?
If you’re wondering what opportunities there could be in the arts and design field, why not begin by experiencing if first hand as a spectator? Who knows? Rubbing shoulders with people who are in the field could open your eyes to prospects you never knew existed.

What to expect: Held in honour of humour, this exhibition is a celebration and recognition of the contribution of GILA-GILA (a magazine first published in 1978) in providing a platform for intellectuality in contemporary arts. View original artwork like comic strips, editorial cartoons, sketches and drawings. Selfie opportunities with Gila-Gila cardboard cutouts.
Pameran Jelitawan
- Venue: Balai Seni Visual Negara
- Duration: Now - 30 June 2015
- Admission: Free
- Time: 10:00am – 6.00pm
What to expect: The focus of the exhibition is the appreciation of the beauty and skill of women. Among the artists involved in the are Mazela Mat Som , Hamida and Nora Suhaimi Abdullah. Their works explore the concept of beauty in everyday life. If you want to explore aesthetic theories about beauty such as art beauty, natural beauty, and that of moral, spiritual and intellectual perfection, this is a place to start.

- Time: 8.30pm
What to expect: If you think making a presentation at school is unnerving, imagine standing in front of a crowd who expects you to make them laugh. Everyone should experience stand-up comedy (you’d have to be above 18 for this one) and this one will be entertaining and hilarious.
An evening with Célimène Daudet
- Venue: Dewan Filharmonik Petronas
- Duration: 16 June 2015
- Admission: RM40
- Time: 8.30pm
What to expect: The young virtuosic pianist Célimène Daudet will make her Kuala Lumpur début in an exceptional evening of music at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS. She will perform colourful works by Debussy, followed by a brilliant Mozart piano concerto with musicians from the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (insert link: http://mpo.com.my/whats-on-tickets/) has performances all year long so even if you miss this one, you can always look out for the next.
