Tracks
1. Data Science
The Data Science track will test teams’ application and knowledge of data preparation and data mining. Your team is required to make informed decision and solve real business problems using real data (masked).
What are expected from the teams during the CIMB 3D Conquest In-Country and Grand Finale competitions?
The Data Science track requires shortlisted teams to solve a problem statement and propose a business solution by building predictive models and/or segmentation framework based on the data provided.
Teams will present their analytical approach along with results to a panel of judges.
Judging Criteria:
Selection of finalists (for both In-Country and Grand Finale competitions) will be based on:
- Understanding of Data:?Data preparation and manipulation; loading and transformation of relevant information.
- Models/Segments Development (your team can choose either one or both):?Exploration of data, model design and variable selection; methodology description; final models/segments..
- Validation and Presentation:?Number of accurate predictions based on actual data collected from the responses (i.e. % correct prediction from your models).
2. Fintech
The Fintech track looks for innovative digital-related ideas that can improve the way we serve our customers; ideas that will change banking for good.
What are expected from the teams during the CIMB 3D Conquest In-Country and Grand Finale competitions?
At the In-Country competitions, shortlisted teams will follow through their chosen ideas to refine their Pitch Proposal and build a working concept, such as wireframes, working concepts, websites, or apps – whichever brings their idea to life.
Teams that make it to the Grand Finale competition are required to improve and build on the same idea, with a curveball scenario thrown in to test the team’s agility and problem solving skills.
Judging Criteria:
Selection of finalists (for both In-Country and Grand Finale competitions) will be based on creativity, anticipated business value, and presentation of ideas during the Q&A session.
3.?Coding
The Coding track looks for top-notch programmers who are able to develop applications that meet a business objective and simultaneously facilitate a seamless banking experience for customers.
What are expected from the teams during the CIMB 3D Conquest In-Country and Grand Finale competitions?
At the country level, participants will be given a problem statement based on the theme “digital application in the payments space”. Participants are required to solve the problem statement by building a working prototype that addresses the problem.
At the regional level, shortlisted participants will need to improve on the application and a sub-problem statement will be given to assess the teams’ agility in responding to change.
Judging Criteria:
Selection of finalists (for both In-Country and Grand Finale competitions) will be based on completeness of solution, simplicity of customer experience and code logic.
