Course Overview

This diploma programme prepares students for careers in the rapidly evolving data-driven ICT sector. It provides a strong foundation in data informatics, enabling students to develop and support information systems with data-centric functionalities in modern organisational settings.

Curriculum

• Semester 1: Academic Research Skills, Computer Architecture, Digital Thinking and Innovation, Mathematics and Statistics for Computing
• Semester 6: Internship (12 weeks)

Entry Requirements

• SPM: 3 Credits including Mathematics, with a pass in Bahasa Malaysia and Sejarah (History)
• IGCSE/O-LEVELS: 3 Credits (Grade C & above) including Mathematics
• UEC: 3 Credits (Grade B & above) including Mathematics
• Certificate: Pass relevant Certificate Programme or equivalent

# Candidates with only a Pass in Mathematics must complete and pass “Mathematics and Statistics for Computing” in Semester 1.

English Requirements (International Students)

• IELTS: 4.5
• TOEFL IBT: 33
• Pearson (PTE): 43
• MUET: Band 3

Career Prospects

Graduates may take up roles such as:

• Data Technician
• IT Support Executive (Data-Related)
• Junior Data Analyst
• Application Support Analyst
• Software Developer (Data-Driven Systems)

Students may also further their studies in Bachelor's programmes in Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science.

APU-DMU Dual Degree Programme

Students who are under Bachelor’s Degree Programme will have the option to opt-in for the APU-DMU Dual Degree Scheme. Under this Scheme, students will receive 2 Degree Certificates & Transcripts upon graduation: 1 from Asia Pacific University (APU), Malaysia and 1 from De Montfort University (DMU), UK.
