Course Overview

The Master of Information Technology (Hons) is a postgraduate programme offering four specializations: Data Management, Game Computing, Mobile Computing, and Network Computing. The programme combines advanced theoretical knowledge with practical skills development, including a research project component that enables students to engage in R&D with commercialization potential.

Students will gain industry experience through practical training and develop specialized technical skills in their chosen area of focus. The curriculum is designed to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving abilities while preparing graduates for leadership roles in the IT industry.

Core Subjects: Research Methodology, Information Security, Software Project Management, Computer Ethics and Cyber Law

Specializations:

• Data Management: Big Data Analysis, Data Warehousing, Database Architecture
• Mobile Computing: Mobile Applications Development, Wireless Communication
• Game Computing: Game Technology, Virtual Reality, 3D Imaging
• Network Computing: Ethical Hacking, Network Protocols, High Speed Networks

Final Project: Research project with commercialization potential

Entry Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree: Computing or related field with minimum CGPA 3.00 (or CGPA 2.50-3.00 subject to rigorous assessment)
• Non-Computing Degree: Minimum CGPA 2.50 subject to prerequisite computing modules
• Working Experience: Relevant experience may be considered for candidates below CGPA requirements
• English Requirement: IELTS: 6.0 | TOEFL IBT: 79 | TOEFL PBT: 550 | MUET: Band 4
