The MSU Bachelor in Education programme focusing in the Teaching of English as a Second Language (TESL) aims to produce teachers of English for secondary schools. Our focus on both language proficiency and its education will help you develop sound theoretical and practical knowledge in teaching English as a second language. This programme is delivered through innovative, 21st century teaching techniques which will engage you with collaborative and highly focused assessments and projects to give you the foundation you need for a successful career in education and TESL.

You need at least a Full Pass in TWO (2) subjects or 2.00 CGPA at STPM/A-level; OR an MSU Foundation Certificate with minimum 2.00 CGPA; OR an MSU Diploma with minimum 2.00 CGPA; OR an equivalent qualification recognized by MSU Senate; AND a Pass in MUET.
Bachelor (Hons) in TESL (BTESL) is a three-year career-focused industry-developed programme of MSU’s School of Education & Social Sciences (SESS).
Graduates will be eligible to serve in any public or private training and educational institution as Principal/ Deputy Principal, Teacher/ Tutor, Consultant, Student Advisor, Learning Resources and Curriculum Instructional Designer, Subject Matter Expert, English Trainer or English Module Developer.
Alternatively, for graduates who wish to be a lecturer, they may consider continuing study towards Master in Education/ TESL .
