Today’s Mechanical Engineers are involved with all forms of energy utilisation and conversion, machines, manufacturing materials and processes, as well as engines. The energy crisis has brought to focus a need for new sources of energy. Thus, Mechanical Engineers actively research solar, geothermal and wind energy sources, along with other relevant related research activities to increase e?orts in producing electricity from fossil fuels, and hydroelectric and nuclear sources. Mechanical Engineers are also involved in designing and developing machines and mechanisms used in all forms of manufacturing and transportation.
Graduates of this Mechanical Engineering course will ?nd career opportunities in the ?elds of energy technology, combustion, acoustics, noise and vibration control, manufacturing processes, metallurgical processes, machine design, automated machinery and robotics, quality management, plant layouts, and process simulation, among others.
