The world of business today has the possibility of being disruptive. Gone were the days where country and organization had to generate capital, initially make sure the investment was adequate and be present physically in order to be part of the action. Concepts such as the sharing economy and the platform economy are becoming normal breaking conventional notions. The help of technological advances will enable to bring their ideas to the world at a much faster rate.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (International Business) is a new academic programme offered by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). The programme provides individuals with current insights on the world of business, and a glimpse into the future through a structured 4-year undergraduate curriculum. Through this programme, undergraduate students study and learn about strategy and ethics as well as understand insights into developing products, services across cultures and national borders. They will also be equipped with updated knowledge and industry-driven foresights to operate in an international business environment. At the end of the programme, undergraduate students are able to initiate their own start-ups, enabling to work in cosmopolitan corporations, or to be a trendsetter in global industry.

Students from Bachelor of Business Administration (International Business) will be pursuing their studies at the UTM Johor Bahru campus, the only Malaysian Public Research University located in the Iskandar Malaysia economic region. The university has a close proximity to an international business environment, therefore students have first-hand experience about current developments within the region. Students will also engage in active learning that reflects about the impact of regionalism, nationalism and also international change towards enterprises and businesses.

Entry Requirements

1. MATRIKULASI / ASASI

SPM Requirements:

• Gred C for Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Melayu (Kertas Julai).
• Gred E for Sejarah (from 2013 onwards).

Matriculation/Foundation Requirements:

• Pass Matrikulasi KPM / Asasi Sains UM / Asasi UKM / Asasi UiTM with a minimum of:
  • CGPA 2.00

MUET:

• Minimum BAND 1.0 (Session 1, 2021 onwards) or BAND 1 (before 2020), valid at the application date.

2. STPM

SPM Requirements:

• Gred C for Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Melayu (Kertas Julai).
• Gred E for Sejarah (from 2013 onwards).

STPM Requirements:

• Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum of:
  • CGPA 2.00
  • Gred C for Pengajian Am
  • Two (2) Gred C in other subjects.

MUET:

• Minimum BAND 1.0 (Session 1, 2021 onwards) or BAND 1 (before 2020), valid at the application date.

3. STAM

SPM Requirements:

• Gred C for Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Melayu (Kertas Julai).
• Gred E for Sejarah (from 2013 onwards).

STAM Requirements:

• Minimum Pangkat JAYYID in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM).

MUET:

• Minimum BAND 1.0 (Session 1, 2021 onwards) or BAND 1 (before 2020), valid at the application date.

4. DIPLOMA UNIVERSITI AWAM / POLITEKNIK / KOLEJ KOMUNITI

SPM Requirements:

• Gred C for Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Melayu (Kertas Julai).
• Gred E for Sejarah (from 2013 onwards).

Diploma Requirements:

• Hold a Diploma from IPTA / ILKA / IPTS or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government and approved by the University Senate (Specific requirements depend on the programme offered at UA).

MUET:

• Minimum BAND 1.0 (Session 1, 2021 onwards) or BAND 1 (before 2020), valid at the application date.

5. DIPLOMA TVET (DKM/DLKM/DVM)

Diploma Requirements:

• Hold a Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM), Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) or Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM), recognised as equivalent by the Malaysian Government and approved by the University Senate (Specific requirements depend on the programme offered at UA).

MUET:

• Minimum BAND 1.0 (Session 1, 2021 onwards) or BAND 1 (before 2020), valid at the application date.

6. DIPLOMA IPTS / ILKA DAN LAIN-LAIN

SPM Requirements:

• Gred C for Bahasa Melayu / Bahasa Melayu (Kertas Julai).
• Gred E for Sejarah (from 2013 onwards).

Diploma Requirements:

• Hold a Diploma from IPTA / ILKA / IPTS or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government and approved by the University Senate (Specific requirements depend on the programme offered at UA).

7. KELAYAKAN SETARAF (Equivalent Qualifications)

Academic Requirements:

• Matriculation/Foundation:
  • Pass with a minimum CGPA 2.00
• STPM:

    • CGPA 2.00
    • Gred C for Pengajian Am
    • Two (2) Gred C in other subjects.
• STAM:
  • Minimum Pangkat JAYYID in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM).
• Other Equivalent Qualifications:
  • Graduates from Malaysian Sports School Pre-U, GCE A-Level, International Baccalaureate Diploma, Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT), or other qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government and approved by the University Senate.
