Course Overview

This degree programme offers students strong technical skills and specialised knowledge in Information Systems Security, including the ability to critically assess security risks and implement strategic defences. It is built around modern IT infrastructure and focuses on cloud security, ethical hacking, forensic analysis and enterprise-level systems security.

Curriculum

• Level 1: Introduction to Databases, Networking, System Software, Python, Systems Analysis, Security and Forensic Tech, Web Design, Entrepreneurship.
• Level 2: Java, Data Analysis, Network Security, Ethical Hacking, System & Network Admin, Web Apps, Research Methods, Mobile Tech, HCI.
• Level 3: Project Management, Cloud Infrastructure, Advanced DB, Penetration Testing, Wireless Security, InfoSec Project, Venture Building.
• Internship: 16 weeks

Entry Requirements

• STPM: 2 Passes with minimum Grade C (GP 2.0) in any subject with a Credit in Mathematics at SPM.
• A-Level: 2 Passes with a Credit in Mathematics at SPM/O-Level/IGCSE or equivalent.
• UEC: 5 Grade B Passes in any subjects including Mathematics.
• Matriculation/Foundation: Pass with minimum CGPA of 2.0 and a Credit in Mathematics at SPM/IGCSE/O-Level or equivalent.
• Diploma: Science, Technology or Business studies with minimum CGPA of 2.50 and with Credit in Mathematics at SPM/IGCSE or equivalent.
• ICT Related Diplomas: Minimum CGPA of 2.50 and fulfilment of Credit Transfer requirements subject to APU approval. CGPA above 2.0 and below 2.5 subject to rigorous assessment.

• MUET: Band 3.5
