The Post Basic in Perioperative Nursing (PBPOP) is a 6 months home grown programme offered by School of Nursing, KPJ Healthcare University, Nilai Negeri Sembilan. It obtained its approval from the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) on September 2019 and the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). The structure of the curriculum is guided by the Standard and Guidelines of the Nursing Board Malaysia. The Post Basic in Perioperative Nursing (PBPOP) is 20 credits programme and for clinical practice it will be done at various accredited KPJ hospitals.

Health Status
All candidates MUST be certified medically fit by a registered medical practitioner with ONE MONTH from commencement of the nursing programme.
A person with any of the following shall be disqualified from entry into nursing program. Serious physical or mental illness, and / or Serious communicable disease
Candidate MUST not have any physical disabilities or impaired senses that hinder nursing dexterity
This course is designed primarily to prepare Registered Nurse in the Operating Room with required knowledge, skills and characteristics to function in a safety-conscious and effective manner in perioperative setting. It is also aim to prepare the Operating Room nurses to ensure quality nursing through application of principle and technique of asepsis, infection control, planning and arrangement of patient and surgical team member that includes the management in Operating Room.
