Course Overview

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Hons) 3-years programme is offered by the School of Nursing, KPJ Healthcare University, Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. The program is offered to State Registered Nurses (SRN) who are Diploma holders and meet other entry requirements to upgrade themselves with a Bachelor of Nursing qualification. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Hons) 3-year programme is a modified version of our fully accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Hons) 4-year programme with 30% Credit exemption.  The total number of credits for the Bachelors of Science in Nursing (Hons) 3 years programme is 102. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Hons) obtained approval from the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE) on 24 October 2013 and the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) on 3 February 2014. Full accreditation for Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Hons) home-grown programme was obtained in October 2018.   The structure of the curriculum follows the Standard and Guidelines of the Nursing Board of Malaysia

Entry Requirements

Malaysian Student

  • Must possess Diploma in Nursing

  • Registered with MNB & possess valid APC

  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience

  • Complete Muet Band 3 before graduation

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Hons) 3 years is a programme that has been designed as a Top-up nursing course for Registered nurses who are Diploma holders. All learning in this programme is strengthened by evidence-based practice that upholds the development of high-quality healthcare provision. There is also a strong emphasis on relating nursing theory to clinical practice. Upon successful completion of the programme, the graduates will have an honorary degree. They can provide direct patient care, coordinate patient care, educate patients and also assume a leadership role in a variety of healthcare settings.
