Course Overview

Our Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours programme which is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) will give you the knowledge and practical skills you need to enter the pharmacy profession. Throughout this 4-year Bachelor of Pharmacy with Honours degree programme, you will be taught the fundamentals underpinning the use of medicine, including the physiology of the human body, the effects of medicines on human body and how medicines are developed and designed. You will become familiar with the professional aspects of pharmacy through a variety of placements with our extensive links with the pharmaceutical industry, hospitals, and community pharmacy. In the fourth year, you will develop your research skills by completing a research project under the supervision of a dedicated staff in your chosen pharmacy area. Throughout the programme, you will be trained in communication skill to ensure that you can communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare professionals. Your training will also include problem solving, decision making and developing the skills you need to adapt to any changes that may occur during your career.

Higher School Certificate Level or its Equivalent (STPM and A-Level):

General Certificate of Education Advanced (“A”) Levels:

    • 2 Bs each in Chemistry and Biology/Physics/Mathematics.
    • Credits in 3 other subjects, including English.

Degree:

  • Degree in Health, Medical, Pure, or Applied Sciences with a CGPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0).

International Qualifications:

  • International Baccalaureate (IB):
    • A minimum of 30 points overall.
    • Attained a minimum score of 5 each in 3 subjects:
      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics or Mathematics
    • Minimum of 2 at Higher Level (HL) and 1 at Standard Level (SL).
  • Monash University Foundation Pre-University Program (MUFY) / South Australian Matriculation (SAM) / Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT):
    • Equivalent to an average of 75% for 3 subjects:
      • Biology
      • Chemistry
      • Physics or Mathematics
    • Minimum of 75% in Chemistry.
  • Canadian Pre-U (CPU) / Canadian International Matriculation Program (CIMP):
