Course Overview

MAHSA University’s Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) Open Distance Learning (ODL) programme is a highly proficient solution to bridge the physical gap between students, teachers and teaching materials which are brought together through communication technology. This programme will be able to build and advance all registered nurses’ knowledge, skills, attitudes and professional values, in order to prepare them with advanced professional, ethical and leadership qualities.

Entry Requirements

Local Candidates:

1. Diploma in Nursing or its equivalent

   • Minimum two (2) years of clinical working experience (credit transfer allowed).
   • Registered with the Nursing Board Malaysia.
   • Possess a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).

   OR

2. Diploma in Nursing or its equivalent
   • Possess any Post Basic/Advanced Diploma.
   • Registered with the Nursing Board Malaysia.
   • Possess a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).

International Candidates:

1. Diploma in Nursing or its equivalent.
2. Registered with the Nursing Council or Board of the country of origin.
3. Minimum two (2) years of clinical working experience (credit transfer allowed).
4. Possess a current Temporary Practicing Certificate (TPC) from the Nursing Board Malaysia before clinical placement.

English Language Proficiency:

• IELTS: 5.5
• TOEFL: 550
• OR English as the medium of instruction in previous qualifications.

For Local Candidates:

• Pass MUET with a minimum Band 3
• OR Pass IELTS with a minimum 5.5
• OR Pass TOEFL with a minimum 515 (PBT)/215 (CBT)/80 (iBT).

For International Candidates:

• Pass IELTS with a minimum 5.5
• OR Pass TOEFL with a minimum 515 (PBT)/215 (CBT)/80 (iBT).

• All qualifications must be recognized by the relevant authorities.
• Meeting the academic and language requirements does not guarantee admission if other criteria (e.g., registration, certification) are not fulfilled.
• International candidates must comply with Malaysian Nursing Board regulations for clinical placements.
