The Master of Islamic Studies (MIS) degree is designed to meet the needs of those interested in pursuing their studies at higher level in this area. It is also aimed at developing specialisations in various areas of Islamic studies, such as Usuluddin (Theology), Shariah (Islamic Law and Jurisprudence), Dakwah (Preaching of Islam), and Sirah (Islamic History).

Normal Entry
Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Islamic Studies/ Syariah/ Usuluddin, or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or equivalent as accepted by Senate; OR
Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Studies/ Syariah/ Usuluddin with CGPA less than 2.50, can be accepted with a minimum of 5 years working experience.

APEL Admission
More than 30 years of age on 1 January in the year of application; AND
STPM / Recognised Diploma / A-Levels / Equivalent; AND
Relevant work experience / prior experiential learning; AND
Pass the APEL Assessment (Aptitude Test, Portfolio & Interview) conducted by OUM
