Course Overview

The Bachelor of Economics (Honours) programme is designed to provide a solid foundation in economic theory and knowledge while enhancing students' critical and analytical skills.

The course is structured to produce graduates with expertise in economics, applied statistics, development studies, administrative studies, and politics.

This programme teaches students to critically analyse and solve economic problems, applying their skills to various economic issues both locally and internationally.

It is intellectually challenging and aims to develop students’ abilities to analyse the economic aspects that affect communities logically.

Entry Requirements

Option 1: Entry with Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM)

• Pass the STPM or equivalent with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in any 2 subjects.
• Pass the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or any equivalent qualification with:
  • Pass in Mathematics
  • Pass in English

Option 2: Entry with Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM)

• Pass the STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid.
• Pass the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or any equivalent qualification with:
  • Pass in Mathematics
  • Pass in English

Option 3: Entry with Matriculation / Foundation

Pass the Matriculation / Foundation from any IPTA / IPTS / institution authorized to offer foundation program with a CGPA of 2.00.

Option 4: Entry with Diploma or Advanced Diploma (Level 4 or 5, KKM)

Pass the Diploma or Advanced Diploma (Level 4 or 5, KKM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 in the relevant field.

Option 5: Entry with Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM)

Entry requirements with DKM / DVM qualifications are subject to approval by the Higher Education Provider (HEP) Senate / Academic Board.

Option 6: Entry with Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM)

Entry requirements with DLKM qualifications are subject to approval by the Higher Education Provider (HEP) Senate / Academic Board.

Option 7: Entry with Other Recognised Qualification

Other recognised qualifications equivalent to those approved by the Government of Malaysia are also accepted.

Additional Requirements

Equivalent to CEFR (Low B2) for International students.
