  rof. Ir. Dr. Noor Azuan Abu Osman

  Vice Chancellor

  Prof. Ir. Dr. Noor Azuan Abu Osman earned his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bradford, UK. He completed his Master's and PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom. He is a biomechanics expert with a keen research interest in human movement measurements, instrument development for forces and joint motion, and orthopaedic implants. Prof. Azuan has broad experience in the higher education sector, joining Universiti Tenaga Nasional and being a Professor of Biomechanics at Universiti Malaya, Malaysia.

  His exceptional work in this field has earned him numerous accolades, including the BLESMA award from ISPO UK NMS and the prestigious Forchheimer Prize. He was awarded the prestigious 14th National Academic Award in 2022 by the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

  As Executive Council for the World Council of Biomechanics, Prof Azuan collaborates with industry and academic professionals to promote scientific and technological research and development. He is also a Chartered Engineer (C.Eng.) and Fellow (FIMechE) with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, UK, Chartered Professional Engineer (C.PEng) and Fellow (FIEAust) with Engineers Australia. Prof. Azuan has published four books, conference proceedings, and over 250 journals.

He dedicated a significant amount of time to promote and support scientific and technological research and development that would lead to sustainable development and enhance the quality of life of Malaysian.
