Institution Overview

Background of Institution

RIMA College was established in 1981 by a group of educationists whose primary aim was to make education accessible and affordable to all Malaysians in light of the Government's desire to expand educational opportunities to all her people. Six years later, in 1987, RIMA College began a new chapter when it acquired its present campus in Kuala Lumpur. Then in 1989, the RIMA College Petaling Jaya was established to accommodate the growing number of students from within the Klang Valley and those from outstation. Another milestone was achieved by the opening of two new campuses in Johor Bahru and Penang.

Programme Outline

The study programmes at RIMA are offered as according to its respective schools as follows:-

• School of Business - offering the (4+G) & (2+2) American University Degree Programmes, the Lincoln (New Zealand) (2+1) Programmes, the Association of Business Executives (ABE) Programmes, the Bradford UK Programme, as well as the RIMA Diploma Courses
• School of Information Communications and Technology (ICT) - programmes offered under this School include the American Degree Programmes (4+G, 2+2), the Lincoln (New Zealand) ( 2+1), the National Computing Centre ( NCC) UK Programmes and the RIMA Diploma Courses
• School of Engineering and Technology, which offers the American Degree Programmes (2+2), as well as RIMA Diploma Course- School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, offering Liberal Arts courses under the American Degree Programme (2+2), Social Science courses under the American Degree Programme (2+2), the American Degree Programmes ( 2+2), as well as RIMA Diploma in General Studies Programme
• School of English and Languages - This School offers numerous study courses under the American Degree Programme (2+2), as well as Intensive English Programme that comprises of various levels.
• School of Law - This School offers the LLB (Law) Degree Programme/Bachelor of Law under a 2+1 programme with Wales, Aberystwyth, UK, and LLB (Law) Degree Programme under the University of London, UK, as well as RIMA Diploma courses.

  Facilities

  RIMA carefully considers what is best for our students and how to make our student life comfortable and more conducive for studies. Some of the amenities provided for students to make their study environment comfortable and conducive include Computer Centre; Internet Access; Career Counselling Centre; Libraries; and the University Placement Services Centre which helps students to choose and apply for appropriate universities as well as assists them in obtaining a visa, accommodation and pre-departure orientation.
