Background

Universiti Tun Abdul Razak (UNIRAZAK) was established in 1998 under the Private Higher Education Act, 1996. It was awarded MSC-status as well as the ISO 9001:2008 certification, a commitment to an international quality standard for continuous improvement. UNIRAZAK is a member of The Association to Advanced Collegiate School of Business (AACSB) - an international accreditation that represents the highest standard of achievement for business schools worldwide. The University is also a member of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) - a globally recognised accreditation body of quality in management education.

UNIRAZAK’s faculty members have research collaborations with foreign professors and some are involved in providing consultancy services to government agencies and private companies. This is a testament to the high quality of education that UNIRAZAK provides. UNIRAZAK is a member of the International Business School Alliance (IBSA), a growing network of international business schools offering dual master awards UNIRAZAK offers Global Islamic Finance as the specialisation for this global MBA, a one-year programme where students spend one term at our partner universities in Europe or North America and the remaining two terms at Razak Campus.

Since 2008, the Bank Rakyat School of Business and Entrepreneurship has been in partnership with Babson College, USA to deliver the Bachelor of Business Management (Hons) (Entrepreneurship) at Razak Campus. Babson College is currently ranked No. 1 in the entrepreneurship category of the U.S. News & World Report Magazine 2009 for 16 years consecutively. Through UNIRAZAK’s holistic education and training approach, the innovative and customised degree programme allows students to gain exposure to the world of entrepreneurship, to identify entrepreneurial opportunities and untapped markets as well as to master managerial skills in undertaking entrepreneurial ventures internationally.

UNIRAZAK’s Razak School of Government is in collaboration with Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs aims to promote itself as the leader of public policy and governmental studies and to produce graduates to fulfill shortages of specialised human resource in the public sector. Our partner is currently ranked No. 1 in the public administration programme featured in the U.S. News & World Report Magazine 2009.

Academic Facilities & Resources

While UNIRAZAK aspires to render services of the highest quality, it is also highly accessible to the community. Our main campus, Razak Campus is strategically located in between the Golden Triangle and the Central Business District right in the centre of Kuala Lumpur. Pintar Campus is the branch campus which was recently relocated to Leisure Commerce Square, just 30 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur and 45 minutes from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

Both Razak Campus and Pintar Campus ensure that students have easy access to various public transportation systems such as buses, light railway transit and train commuters to campus and forth. Our friendly Student Services Department officers assist in sourcing for accommodation units within the vicinity for all local and international students upon request.

UNIRAZAK students will find everything they need surrounding them. Campuses are located within walking distance to shopping malls, convenience stores, post office, restaurants and food centres, banks, sports centre and recreational parks.

At both Razak Campus and Pintar Campus, students will have a good learning experience and study life surrounded by conducive facilities and amenities. Among the facilities and amenities within our campuses include :

E-Library with a massive collection of 5 online databases which consist of journals, magazines, proceedings, dissertations and an electrical dictionary; 30,000 over e-books on different subjects; computer terminals, student lounge and library; campus-wide wifi hotspots network; computer workstations with 400 computer units; computer labs which are LAN-equipped; a one-stop centre for student services; student lounge; games room; commercial grade kitchen laboratory, front office mock-up rooms, etc.

Student Support Services & Student Development Activities

The Student Affairs Department plans and implements activities for students all year round. At present, UNIRAZAK has over 30 student clubs and societies which include Aikido Club, Diving Club, Badminton Club, Toastmasters’ Club, Debate Club, International Students Club, Indian Students Society, Muslim Students Society, as well as sports and recreation activities. UNIRAZAK is one of very few universities to incorporate co-curriculum subjects into its learning modules. There is a Student Representatives Council also known as MPM.
