  Before I came to Malaysia, UTP was introduced to me as an excellent engineering university with a modern campus and facilities. Now after 1 year of studying here, I believe what I was told is true.
  
  UTP has the facilities which are perfectly unique. Even though its location is quite far from the town of Ipoh, the campus atmosphere provides a good & suitable place to study. I believe by recruiting more experts and highly experienced staff be it in the academic or administration field, UTP can go further to become a leader in technology education and centre for creativity and innovation.   This is my third year of studies in UTP. I found that the lecturers here are very supportive and delivered the syllabus accordingly. However, I strongly feel that as a student, we need to have our own initiative to search and do our homework to gain extra knowledge. The tutorial session for practicing exercises is also good as it will assist the students who need further understanding on the subject they learn. The 8 months Industrial Internship Programme is also another advantage where the students will be exposed to hands-on training and knowledge during their attachment to the Industry.

  For the first 3-5 months when I started studying, it was quite challenging for me since I needed to adjust myself to the environment which was new to me. As time goes by, with the help from my other international & local colleagues, I made new friends and focused on my objective of coming here, which is to get a degree and learn the different cultures, which is fun after all.
  
  Until now, UTP has been providing me with a practical education along with well-equipped labs and useful field trips. I’m glad that the university is progressively paving the way to develop not only good students in academic performance but also in extra curricula activities.

  At that time when I applied, I knew only a little about UTP and PETRONAS and even about Malaysia itself. However, after obtaining the scholarship from PETRONAS I learnt a lot more and found that UTP is among the best universities in Malaysia and I realized that I have a very good chance to get the appropriate education and knowledge that I have always wanted and that I was not mistaken in making the decision to come here.

  Getting the scholarship by PETRONAS was a great opportunity for me to see if Malaysia would be a better place to enhance my knowledge, broaden my horizons and improve my personality. UTP is a modern campus. The eight month Industrial Internship Program provides a practical period that is longer than other universities but it creates a better opportunity for us to gain industrial exposure and provides sufficient time to bring our theory into practice.
